Luffy meets Nami, a thief targeting pirates, and together they cross paths with Buggy the Clown. Nami betrays Luffy but ultimately joins forces with him and Zoro to fight Buggy’s crew.
The episode begins with Monkey D. Luffy meeting Nami, a thief who specializes in stealing from pirates. Nami proposes a temporary alliance to deal with Buggy’s crew, despite making it clear she dislikes pirates.
Their encounter is interrupted when Buggy’s pirates appear. Luffy and Nami manage to escape and hide in a small village restaurant. During their temporary retreat, Nami reveals her goal to gather 100 million Berries, though she does not explain why.
Nami betrays Luffy by tying him up and handing him over to Buggy’s crew. Buggy, impressed by Nami’s apparent cunning, locks Luffy in a cage and commands his crew to demonstrate the destructive power of the Buggy Ball, a cannonball capable of devastating an entire row of houses. The explosion shocks Nami and the villagers.
Meanwhile, Zoro arrives in the town and notices the destruction caused by the Buggy Ball. Suspecting Luffy might be involved, Zoro heads toward the commotion.
Back at Buggy’s base, the clown pirate demands that Nami fire a Buggy Ball directly at Luffy as proof of her loyalty. Nami hesitates but ultimately refuses to comply. One of Buggy’s men lights the cannon’s fuse, forcing Nami to act. She extinguishes the fuse with her bare hands, burning herself in the process. Furious, Buggy orders his men to attack her.
At this moment, Zoro enters the scene, cutting through Buggy’s pirates to protect Nami. Zoro confronts Buggy directly, slicing off his hand and leg in an attempt to neutralize him. However, Buggy reveals the power of the Bara Bara no Mi, a Devil Fruit that allows him to detach and control parts of his body independently. Using his detached hand, Buggy stabs Zoro from behind before reattaching his limbs.
Despite his injuries, Zoro adjusts the cannon’s aim toward Buggy’s crew. He urges Nami to relight the fuse, and she complies. The Buggy Ball is fired, causing chaos among Buggy’s pirates and creating a chance for the trio to regroup.
This episode highlights the trio’s first interaction as they work together to outsmart Buggy and his crew. What awaits them in the next episode? Stay tuned!
